Goa News: Mumbai-Goa Travel Time to be Cut to 6 Hours by 2024 January.

The Mumbai-Goa highway is one of the most popular tourist routes in India. However, the current travel time of 8-10 hours can be daunting for many travelers.

To ease the travel between the two most popular destinations, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, has announced that the Mumbai-Goa highway will be widened to 6-8 lanes and the travel time will be cut to 6 hours by January 2024. Mr. Gadkari made the announcement during an aerial inspection of the ongoing work on the highway. He said that the project has been delayed due to land acquisition issues, but all hurdles have now been cleared.

The widening of the highway will involve the construction of 11 new bypasses and the strengthening of existing bridges. The project is being undertaken by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at a cost of Rs. 10,000 crore. The honorable minister said that the improved road connectivity will boost tourism in Goa and create jobs in the region. He also said that the project will help to reduce traffic congestion and accidents on the Mumbai-Goa highway.

The announcement of the Mumbai-Goa highway widening project has been welcomed by travelers and businesses in the region. They say that the reduced travel time will make Goa more accessible and boost tourism in the state.

The project is also expected to create jobs in the region. The NHAI has said that it will employ 10,000 people during the construction of the new bypasses and the strengthening of existing bridges.
